The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - God bless him, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Naif, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman, Governor of Madinah and His Excellency Shaikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais the General President of the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, receives the Finance Ministry team headed by His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Finance and the supervisor General for the expansion of the Prophet's mosque Mr. Mohammed Al-Mazyad and some of the members of the supervisory Committee of the project and supervisors engineers of the Ministry's projects in Medina, on Wednesday, 14/09/1436 AH.
The Custodian of the two Holly Mosques reviewed - may God protect him – the proposals and projects designs implemented by the Ministry in Medina within the major expansion project for the Prophet's Mosque besides other related schemes namely:
1. The revised designs for the Prophet's Mosque expansion project.
2. Project design of Darb Al-Sunnah.
3. Project design of reconstruction and expansion of Quba Mosque .
4. Project design of Dar al-Hijrah.
5. Project design of the Ministry's scheme for compensation in kind project.
6. Project design of King Salman Center for Conferences.
7. Presentation of developmental plan of the new central area in Madinah.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques adopted the revised designs for the expansion of the Prophet's Mosque. According to the revised plan, the first phase of development works will be undertaken on the eastern side of the Prophet’s Mosque, followed by development on the western side during the second phase and with expansion of the first rows and postponement of the third phase on the north side until the readiness of residential towers to accommodate the population at this phase, according to the illustrated attached charts.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also adopted - may God protect him – the project of Darb Al-Sunnah; reconstruction and expansion of the Quba Mosque, and - God bless him- supported the continuation of Dar al-Hijrah, Ministry's scheme for compensation in kind project and King Salman Center for Conferences.
