On Monday, 12th February 2018, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, met with Dr David Gruen, Australia's G20 Sherpa - the Australian Prime Ministerial representative for the G20 Summit - at the Ministry of Finance's headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting was attended by Dr Ralph King, the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Dr Fahad Al-Mubarak,  Secretary-General of the 2020 G20 Riyadh Summit Committee, and Dr Hamad Al-Bazie, Deputy Minister of Finance. 

The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries, explored ways of co-operation with a view to further developing the Saudi financial sector and covered learnings and recommendations from Australia's experience in hosting the 2014 G20 Summit.  The meeting also addressed the co-ordination between the two countries with regards to the G20 agenda and the positive economic developments in Saudi Arabia in light of the Kingdom's efforts to achieve fiscal balance and economic diversification within the framework of Vision 2030.
