 Ministry of Finance participated in WSIS Forum 2016

The Ministry of Finance has participated in the World Summit on the Information Society Forum 2016 (WSIS) which was held on 2-6 May 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland. The WSIS Forum, co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The Ministry of Finance participation is pursuant to the directives and support of His Excellency Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Aziz Al-Assaf. MOF's delegation, which is composed of the supervisor of the Deputy Minister's Office for Finance and Accounts Affairs Mr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Saidan and the Secretary of the Supervisory Committee for E-government Procurement Project Mr. Mohammed Bin Abdul Karim Al-Eryj, have presented the E-government Procurement Project. The audience of the Forum from all countries have interacted with such a large project which reflects the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2030.
A detailed presentation on the E-government procurement project, stating therein the Ministry's policy in developing E-Government Procurement Portal (Tenders), was delivered by Mr. Al-Eryj. All the audience have expressed their interaction and admiration of the project.

It is worth mentioning that the forum was of two-paths. A high-level path that includes general policy statements, interactive dialogues, a ceremony for submitting prizes and a round ministerial table. The other path allows participants to attend a series of meetings, workshops and an exhibition addressing the critical issues.
More than 1,500 high-level policy makers form more than 140 countries, representing government ministers, civil society leaders, business communities, international organizations and governmental bodies, have participated in this forum.
