 Saudi Minister of Finance Heads Kingdom's Delegation to WBG-IMF 2025 Spring Meetings

His Excellency the Saudi Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Aljadaan, will head the Kingdom's delegation at the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund 2025 Spring Meetings, to be held April 21-26, 2024 in Washington, D.C., United States.

 

The Saudi Delegation will also include H.E. the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Mr. Ayman Alsayari; H.E. the Saudi Vice Minister of Finance Mr. Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf; the Assistant Minister of Finance for Macro-Fiscal Policies and International Relations Mr. Abdullah Bin Zaraah; the Deputy Chair of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) Dr. Ryadh Alkhareif; the Deputy Minister of Finance for International Affairs Mr. Khalid Bawazier; the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Mr. Sultan Almarshad; the CEO of the National Debt Management Center (NDMC) Mr. Hani Almedaini; and experts from the Ministry of Finance, SAMA, SFD, NDMC, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

 

During these meetings, Minister Aljadaan and SAMA Governor Alsayari will participate in the 2nd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting, currently under the South African Presidency. The FMCBG meeting aims to foster in-depth discussion on issues facing the global economy, as well as to enhance global cooperation to address them. Minister Aljadaan will also participate in a meeting of the Development Committee of the World Bank Group (WBG), which will discuss the strategies implemented by the WBG to respond to global development challenges.

 

Minister Aljadaan will also chair the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) meeting. The IMFC members will exchange views on developments in the global economy, including growth prospects and risks. The members will also discuss global economic policy priorities and the role of the Fund in addressing these developments through financial assistance, advice, and capacity-development for members, as well as through provision of financial support to countries in need.

 

The Spring Meetings serve as a platform to bring together ministers of finance, central bankers, international organizations, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the global economy, sustainable development, poverty eradication, and other economic and financial topics.
